By Shannon Smith

Paige’s mom, Sara recently wrote in to Sacramento Parent to share her daughter’s love of drawing. Paige is a ten-year-old, self-taught artist who finds inspiration from her friends, animals and music. She lives in Elk Grove and she loves having a big family, with two younger sisters and a little brother. Her dad is originally from India and her mom grew up in Grass Valley. Read on and get to know a little more about Paige and check out some of her favorite sketches!

Why do you think art means so much to you?
You get to express yourself, and let your imagination run without limits.

Have you taken art classes?
No, I have never taken art classes.

How would you describe your style of art and what do you love to draw most?
I would say my style is cartoon-like and my favorite things to draw are people and animals.

What inspires you to draw and be creative?
Music inspires me to draw and be creative. Whenever I hear music, animations and sketch ideas will just pop into my head.

Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?
Yes, I want to be an animator.

When Paige is not drawing, you can find her playing video games online or in Virtual Reality, playing with her pets and swimming. She is looking forward to taking a summer trip with her family to Stinson Beach. Around town, Paige loves Sacramento area parks and thinks Elk Grove is a “friendly place to live”. Keep drawing Paige!
