Hopes Springing High: Gifts of African American Art

Through June 24 at Crocker Art Museum
Named after the poem, “Still I Rise,” by Maya Angelou, this exhibition seeks to honor the courage and perseverance of the African American community and features the artwork of prominent artists, including Kehinde Wiley, who was recently chosen by former president Barack Obama to paint his portrait, Romare Bearden, Elizabeth Catlett and Faith Ringgold.
